How To Take a Japanese Bath

The japanese have perfected the art of cleansing themselves. This japanese bath at the Ryokan Rakucho had a 3 feet deep, long bathtub full what feels like scalding hot water. Even Nolen had to run cold water in it. The bathtub has a cover (as shown) so it stays hot and automatically refills itself once you're done!
I love it. A smart bathtub.

What you're suppose to do is sit on the plastic stool and rinse with the shower head, then soak in the tub until you've reached maximum relaxation, then step out and soap/scrub/rinse. Same steps are followed at the hot mineral spring baths, called ONSEN.

The irony of this is that they dont sell deodorants here. Huh, go figure!
