From the catamaran, we landed on the beach. There were several vendors with horses to rent. Vaux approached the vendor in front of our boat and was quoted 250 pesos per person. Once the vendor saw that Nolen was with Vaux, the vendor changed the price to 1,250 pesos per person! We walked to another vendor and was quote a similar price, then another quoted for 850 pesos. Vaux grew frustrated because we were obviously being taken for a ride. So, Vaux suggested we walk up and down the beach until someone gave way.

Someone did, a vendor approached Vaux and said, "ok, 250 pesos".
