We found about 30 baby turtles kept in a styrofoam cooler with sand. The caretaker waits a couple of days after they hatch in order for their shell to harden, then releases them. We took a couple and kept them in a separate container filled with sea water. They immediately became active, swimming and moving around trying to climb out of the container. We even put one in the sand and faced it away from the water. In seconds it turned itself around towards the ocean and scurried as fast as it can towards the water.
