At the end of Ubud's main strip (Monkey Forest Road) was Ubud's palace where the local boys practiced gamelan. We could tell that these guys were focused and very diciplined. They listened to their teachers very intently and there was no foolin'around. We were told that several gamelan schools compete so that's probably why they sounded so good!
