Some chow!

Alas! we reached elephant haven, though we weren't sure if it was OUR haven or elephant haven because it was the simplest bamboo and leaf hut on stilts in the middle of nowhere and all you hear are birds and crikets. Whallah, utter solitude.

The mahouts (elephant caretakers) and our trek leader, Pom, cooked up an phenomenal spread of authentic northern thai food, that if it was the last meal I ever had, I'd die a happy woman. It was truly fantastic.
Imagine cooking 8 dishes in this kitchen!
