Longing eyes. The orphanage is open to everyone. Lots of children sell books, newspapers, sunglasses and flowers to the tourists on the streets around the restaurant. Free meals are offered to the children as much as possible. Most of them have parents and usually do not get the money they make selling books. When Neth and Tawi offer the children to take refuge in the orphanage, they decline. They make enough money for their parents and do not want to let them go. It was tough to see while we were giving hugs and saying our goodbyes to the orphans, the children on the street selling books were longing for love and affection they don't get at home. The complexity of poverty and the demands on the soul is ever present in Cambodia.
